Working Condition BC
Regular 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week, overtime more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours a week – paid as time and a half per hour.
Part-time or casual workers minimum 2 hours of work, worked less than 2 hours.
Anytime during the week, required to have 30 minute break after 5 hours of work and one break is 32 hours.

Statutory Holiday Pay
How to calculate statuday holiday pay for employee working 15 to 30 days per month not the regular 40 hours weekly.
- Average Days worked: Total Wages worked in the last 30 days / number of days worked less than 8 hours or 8 hours.
- Did they work on the statutory holiday
- Time and A half for first 12 hours
- Double time hours after 12 hours.
- Did not work on Statutory holiday
- Employee full-time are paid Regular pay 8 hours
- Employee part-time worked 15 days in last 30 days less than 8 hours
Please ensure calculating the payroll properly, this cause issues with employment standards.
Annual vacation
Annual vacation pays if accrued paid within 14 days before your vacation is set to begin. Unless included pay cheques based on a percentage of the gross wages earn during the calendar year. When your vacation is:
- 2 weeks; vacation pay is 4% of earnings
- 3 weeks; vacation pay is 6% of earnings, and
- 4 weeks; vacation pay is 8% of earnings
